Wine brings to light the hidden secrets of the soul, gives being to our hopes, bids the coward flight, drives dull cares away, and teaches new means for the accomplishment of our wishes. - Horace
The transformation of grape into Spirit begins in the hands of the growers who tend the vines from dormancy, to bud, to blossom, to fruit and to harvest. At harvest the growers bring the grapes, load by load, to the cantina (winery) and pass them into the hands of the winemakers whose task is to guide the fruit offerings through the delicate, balancing process rendering the nectar that is the liquid expression of the Spirit of the Grape.
In this retreat we will embark on a journey of transformation—from grape to Spirit—walking among the vines, touching and harvesting the fruit, imbibing the nectar. We will meet the modern custodians of the centuries-old tradition of winemaking. We will be welcomed to the table at each meal and invited to savor from the local fields and vineyards. We will imbibe the Spirit of the Grape among friends.
We will travel by train to Venice and spend the day meandering through the enchanting maze of calle (narrow alleys) and bridges, exploring the creations of local artisans and visiting the Rialto bridge and Piazza San Marco. We will enjoy an aperitivo at a charming enoteca (wine bar) and dine at a typical Venetian trattoria.
Each morning we will awaken our bodies to the experiences of the day with a gentle and restorative yoga flow and meditation session.

AquaFire Retreats I have designed and hosted:
Hearts cracked wide open — retreat participants discovered laughter as a powerful agent that opens the heart during improv exercises led by the improv queen, Christine Alexander. Yoga flow with poses to open the heart.
Grief to Grace — created a cocoon and held space for a grieving friend after experiencing loss of a loved one. Simply being in the physical and energetic sanctuary of AquaFire allowed moments of grace to embrace and soothe the grieving heart.
Nourish YOU — Extended daily restorative yoga sessions led by Margit McNaughton, yoga nidra led by Elena de Lalla, accompanied by nourishing meals, sunset beach meditations and periods of personal reflection and contemplation nourished us physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Blaze the trail to new horizons — being playful and spontaneous, floating in relaxation dissolved some anxiety, allowed us to connect with our courage and express new personal vision for ourselves.
